Task
To create brand awareness/buzz for Berner Design in
Southampton by implements a strategic marketing campaign targeting the
specified market.
Target Market
18-30 year olds situated in Southampton mostly in the
Universities with a cool hip image that’s symbolises individualism, self
expression and extreme confidence.
Competitors
Analyse any competitors in Southampton that would be a
direct threat to Berner Design. Understand their marketing strategies,
marketing tools and promotional campaigns.
Social Media
Using social media to increase awareness of the brand around
Southampton. Using Facebook and Twitter to communicate with the general public
of updates, competitions, new designs and promotion purposes.
Contacting Universities in and around Southampton Facebook
and Twitter pages to target a mass audience which is a strong demographic of
the target market. These would also extended to continues working with the
Universities in promotion of the brand through poster, flyers, stalls and
various competitions.
Magazines
Analysing current ‘free’ magazines that are situated around
Southampton relatively in ‘cool hip’ places such as casual bars, stores etc.
(Vice magazine)
This would also consist of potential design campaigns as
requested by members of the public such as Skateboard magazines, surfer
magazines and tattoo magazines. To keep costs to a minimum an article is to be
suggested to create a buzz/story and understanding of the brand.
Posters and Flyers
Posters and flyers again will be placed around the target
market such as London Road, Skate board shops and most importantly
Universities. The posters will be very basic image which is agreed on but needs
to be finalised along with a unique strapline such as ‘wanted’ (for arrest) or
a ‘Birthday theme’ again which needs to be confirmed. This also may include a
back story to the image and continues story through out if needed. A subliminal
message has been suggest which may be a direction that can be followed.
Stickers
Stickers will consist of the final confirmed image and
nothing more and placed around Southampton to create the sense of ‘what’s this
brand?’. This will also include on nights out with club promotions possibly.
Portraits
Portraits is another venture that Berner Design is part of
but will venture towards once there is more understanding and awareness of the
brand.
T-shirts/Shops
Currently T-shirts have been designed and are on sale, this
will include further promotion on the website/Facebook/twitter and also Selling
T-shirts in local stores where there is an interest. Tshirts can be customised
to design to cater customers. This would also include discussing potential partnerships
with Tattoo Shops which both have a unique individualism but a benefit to the
client must be made aware.
Photo Shoots/Events
Photo shoots may potential be arranged for promotion of T
shirts. A photo shoot for potential Portraits may also be possible within the
future.
